'Girl Day' was one of the greatest jazz vocalists the globe ever listened to. In 1971, journalist Linda Lipnack Kuehl set out to compose the definitive bio of Billie Holiday. Prior to her mysterious death in 1978, Lipnack Kuehl had actually taped over 200 hours of interviews. The tapes have never been heard. Currently they create the basis of an atmospheric, multi-layered documentary that captures the many intricate elements of a happy black woman, violent addict, loyal close friend, ruthless lover and also memorable vocalist of 'God Bless The Youngster', 'Saddest Story' as well as the haunting 'Unusual Fruit'.
