Death of a Gunfighter
Cottownwood Springs is a small town in Texas that was built in the early 1900s. The town's marshal, Frank Patch, is a lawman from the old days in a town that wants to be modern. When he kills Luke Mills in self-defense, the town's leaders decide it's time for a new leader. In this case, they want Patch to resign, but he doesn't want to because the town promised him the job for as long as he wanted. The city's leaders are afraid for the town's future and even more afraid that Marshal Patch knows all the town's dark secrets. They decide that old-fashioned violence is the only way to get rid of the lawman.
