Dave Kroupa is surprised when his new girlfriend, Cari Farver, begins sending him insistent texts. Dave receives an onslaught of twisted messages from Cari, who has mysteriously vanished, after he terminates his connection with her. Liz, the ex-girlfriend of Dave, also begins receiving threatening texts from Cari, placing them both in a perilous scenario. In the meantime, Cari's mother Nancy continues to hunt for her, maintaining pressure on the police, who ultimately make a devastating discovery.
