The Nun
Suzanne Simonin refers to her life of suffering in letters. As a young woman she's delivered into a convent against her will. They pick she must instead turn into a nun since her parents cannot pay the dowry required to get a union befitting her position. Even though a kind and understanding Mom Superior helps her to master the convent routine, Suzanne's appetite for freedom remains unabated. When the Mother Superior dies, Suzanne finds herself up against reprisals, harassment and humiliation at the hands of their Abbess and one other Sisters.
