Leslie, a single mother living in West Texas, is having a hard time providing for her son when she wins the lotto and gets a second chance at a happy life. However, just a few short years later, the money was gone, and now Leslie is on her own. She is living hard and fast at the bottom of a bottle as she runs from the world of pain that she left behind. Leslie is unable to find work and has nowhere else to go, so she decides to head back home. Sweeney, a lonely motel clerk, is the one who decides to take a chance when no one else will when she is unwelcomed and unloved by those she has hurt. With his assistance, Leslie is able to confront the results of her choices, which include a life filled with regret as well as a second opportunity to build a fulfilling life for herself and her son.
