Mourning the passing of her mum a couple of years ago, ALICE McKINLEY discovers her entire life seriously disrupted when her daddy BEN buys a shop and moves her and her elderly brother LESTER into a new town. At the painful throes of adolescence, Alice includes a rough time adjusting to her new school, particularly if she gets the stern MRS. PLOTKIN because her heart educator.
