How is it that an artist might have discovered abstraction at the turn of the 20th century but nobody was paying attention to it? A woman who has been overlooked and kept in the shadows has created an astounding body of work that has rocked the world of art. She created her first abstract picture in1906, four years before Vassily Kandinsky did the same thing. Hilma af Klint was a pioneer. But why was she not acknowledged?
