Brown Paper Bag

Archie Glass is attempting to break into Hollywood in the year 1942. His opportunity presents itself when he is offered a job: locate a young white movie star before the press reports her missing, and he will have a chance at his Hollywood dream. Thus begins a voyage into a Los Angeles you've never seen before; the actors who portray maids, busboys, and background characters in jungle films all come to the fore in this dramatic noir about a guy prepared to do anything to achieve his ambition. Archie hunts Hollywood's dark alleys and discovers far more lies than truth. He eventually discovers the woman he seeks and the grim truth of being a black guy in Hollywood.
