It was Leonora Eames' youth dream become a reality. She'd married Smith Ohlrig millions. However, her fantasy turned into a nightmare once she realizes the truth about her husband - he is power mad and mad! Since he will not give her a divorce, she goes to work as a receptionist in the office in NYC's lower west side of an doctor and leaves her life of luxury on Long Island. After Smith deceives her into a temporary reconciliation, Leonora becomes pregnant. By the time she realizes she is hoping, she and a few of the doctors, Larry Quinada (James Mason), have fallen inlove. However, she is again lured backed to her husband to provide her child financial security. Her sadistic husband is hell-bent on keeping her and her child captive. What will occur to Leonora?
