Celia

The movie takes place in the middle of the 1950s in Australia, when people were afraid of communism and rabbits had taken over the country's farms. It shows a long, hot summer through the eyes and overactive imagination of nine-year-old Celia. Celia is lost between the cruel games and rituals of childhood and the world of adults, which she doesn't understand, because of the death of her beloved grandmother. When she sleeps, scary monsters chase her through her dreams. During the day, these dreams get mixed up with the everyday cruelty of the adult world, which leads to tragic and shocking results.
