Mystical, superb as well as elegiac, supervisor Yang Chao's odyssey mixes awesome pictures with dream, poetry and background to create an intricate enchanting world. From the Shanghai metropolitan area to the snow-capped Tibet mountain, Gao Chun guides his cargo up the Yangtze, a river that has nurtured a centuries-old people. He comes across An Lu, an attractive woman that appears in a different identity at every port videotaped by a poetry book. Longing for her firm, he realizes she progressively turns younger as he travels upstream. He starts to wonder whether An Lu is mythological or he is traveling not only precede but also in time. After passing a pagoda that resounds Buddha's voice, a swamped community came back in other places, the grandiose Three Gorges Dam as well as lots of other areas where lives have been transformed, he finally arrives at the begin of the Yangtze, where he introduces the trick of his past and An Lu.
