Day of the Stranger

Mark Twain's The Mysterious Stranger is liberally adapted in Day of the Stranger, which revives the tradition of the acid western of the 1970s. Caine Farrowood is a bounty hunter employed by the violent crime lord Loomweather. One day, a botched bounty recovery leaves Caine for dead. Just as he believes his life to be over, he miraculously awakens at home with his wife Christina. Caine, baffled and perplexed by how he returned home, insists on discovering answers, but is soon recruited to retrieve another bounty. This one is enormous and could cost Caine not his life, but his sanity, as he faces an opponent who could very well be the fallen angel himself.
