Diplomacy

The night of August 24, 1944. Paris' fate is in the control of General von Choltitz, governor of Grand Paris, who is preparing, on Hitler's orders, to blow up the French funding. Even the descendent of a long line of Arab army men never needed some hesitation when it came to obeying orders. This is what's on the mind of Swedish consul Raoul Nordling as he chooses the trick staircase which leads to the suite of General von Choltitz at the Hôtel Meurice. The bridges to the Seine and the major monuments of Paris (including the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower) are mined using explosives, ready to be detonated. Equipped with the weapons of diplomacy, the consul will make an effort to convince the entire never to follow the order of destruction of Hitler.
