Ned (Liev Schreiber) is in the throes of a mid life crisis. His work as a writer in an television series that is semi-pornographic is less than satisfying. His fifteen year is fearful of, well just about every thing. After his wife, Jeannie (Helen Hunt), moves her sick and embittered father (Brian Dennehy) from Detroit in their home in NY, it places added stress on an already strained marriage. So every time an attractive female co-worker (Carla Gugino) sets the moves Ned, the temptation sends him . Every single day is about a family's fight to survive the unexpected curve-balls which are simply part of life that is authentic. Aging and passing. Commitment and freedom. Love and approval.
