Foolish Wives

Writer/director Erich von Stroheim stars as a spell that is deceptive, living high on the hog at Monte Carlo. He supports himself with extorting enormous amounts of money from absurd ladies who are dumb enough to fall for his charms that are romantic. Von Stroheim's partners in crime, counterfeit princesses Mae Busch and Maud George, are now living in a state of ceaseless depravity. Their most recent victim, played is the American financier's wife. Von Stroheim's tried charm with the particular wife is thwarted at every turn, and also the count gets his comeuppance.
