Longtime Companion follows the lives of a circle of friends from the very first mention of the disorder from the New York Times from 1981. First described as"Gay-Related-Immune-Disorder," people watch the result of the disorder since it devastates the lives of our protagonists. Constructed between Manhattan and Fire Island, we are carried by vignettes from the it-couldn't-happen-to-me mindset of their ancient days of the disorder to the effect it's had on all our lifetimes, now.
