Matt Gordon returns to Singapore after the war in order to reclaim a fortune's worth of smuggled pearls. Arrived, he reflects in flashback about his enticing pre-war fiancée, Linda, and her disappearance after the Japanese onslaught. Now, though, Linda has regained her memory and is married to the wealthy landowner Van Leyden. In the meantime, the evil fence Mauribus schemes to steal Matt's pearls.
