The City Without Jews

In the Republic of Utopia, because of the bad economy, the Jews are blamed for the economic and social problems that the people have. The government decides to expel them. Leo Strakosch is one of the people who were sent away. He is going to marry Linder's daughter, Counselor. He sneaks into the Republic in order to show the society that their anti-semitic prejudice isn't good for them. Bettauer's book is very different from the movie version. Utopia was the name given to "Vienna," and it was a city. Even a happy ending was there.
