The Infernal Trio
Marseilles, 1919. A famous and well-respected lawyer, Georges Sarret was recently honored for his contributions to the war effort during the First World War. Philomène Schmidt, a young German woman who has recently been fired from her job and evicted from her home, becomes his mistress. Georges finds Philomène a spouse who conveniently passes away a month after their wedding from natural causes. This allows Philomène to continue living in France, which Georges had intended for her to do. Georges does the same thing with Philomène's sister, Catherine, marries her off to an elderly man in the hopes that he will pass away unexpectedly so that the three con artists can collect on his life insurance policy. After receiving a threat of blackmail from a participant in the scheme named Marcel Chambon, Georges and his two loves are left with little choice but to assassinate him and his mistress.
