The Price of a Broken Heart

A true story about a historic legal battle. A woman (Park Overall) discovers that her husband has been having an open affair with his secretary (Laura Innes) and has promised to marry her. The wife files for divorce and also sues the secretary under an obscure law called alienation of affection, which was designed to protect married couples from homewreckers. This creates a new courtroom consideration, as the other woman's culpability must be defended, and it removes the fault of the married partners from consideration.
