The Voice of the Moon

Returning to subjects he explored in La strada (1954), Fellini crafts that a parable on the whisperings of this spirit which simply madmen and vagabonds are effective at hearing. The strange bunch, Ivo Salvini (Benigni), a fictitious inspector of wells, along with Gonnella (Villaggio), also an former prefect, wander through the Emilia-Romagna countryside of Fellini's youth and discover a dystopia of television advertisements, fascism, beauty pageants, rock music, and Catholicism, along with Hindu ritual.
