The Weapon, the Hour, the Motive

Don Giorgio, a lovely young priest and teacher in a monastery, has two lovers: Giulia and Orchidea. When he repents and promises to return to the Church, he is brutally murdered. Following this, Giulia's throat is cut. Inspector Boito falls in love with Orchidea, who is also the prime suspect, and is prepared to marry her. The key to solving the case appears to be a curious child named Ferruccio who is being held captive and drugged. He witnessed a murder, but will anyone believe his account?
