Writer Zora Matthews is the little girl of renowned author Thomas Morgan Matthews who died a year back. Both Zora and also Thomas deal with schizophrenia. After a fight with partner Drew, Zora gets away to her dad's retreat home in attractive Topanga Canyon. There Zora is introduced to bartender Eddie, his partner Lorena, and handyman Amadi. They all talk cryptically about how Zora's dad changed their globe.
