Weightless

There is nothing in rural Fulton County, Georgia, but a few modest dwellings, a tavern, a petrol station with a little store, and a waste dump. Introverted Joel works at the dump, where he occasionally comes upon a valuable glass bottle or two, which he cleans up and takes home. Then one day, he receives an unexpected phone call: his ex-wife has gone missing, and it is now his responsibility to care for their son. Joel, who is ready to see his son for the first time, has no idea how he will form a bond with 10-year-old Will, who seems to exist in his own world. Clara, a bright girl from the neighborhood, comes to their aid, and Will begins to open up to his father. The youth welfare officer, on the other hand, is already banging on the door. Jaron Albertin's directorial debut is a thoughtful, slightly melancholy movie about two strangers who acquire a deep understanding of one another.
