Canal Road

The Australian drama series Canal Road airs on the Nine Network. Under the supervision of producer Susan Bower and in collaboration with authors Sarah Smith, John Ridley, and Dave Warner, Kevin Carlin directed the series. It was filmed in GTV Studio 11 of Channel Nine and on location in and around Melbourne. The production of the series reportedly cost A$10 million. The thirteen-part series premiered on April 16, 2008. The sitcom debuted to mediocre reviews with merely average ratings, which were further diminished when it was moved to a later timeslot. After the seventh episode, which garnered only 360,000 viewers, Nine pulled Canal Road from its schedules; nevertheless, the eighth episode was still made available online. The remaining episodes broadcast on Nine between August and December 2008. Australia released the DVD of Canal Road on August 4, 2008.
