Matador

Matador is a Danish TV series produced and established between 1978 and 1982. It is located at the fictional Danish town of Korsbæk between 1947 and 1929. It follows the lives of a range of personalities from throughout the social spectrum, focusing specifically on the competition between the categories of two businessmen: The banker Hans Christian Varnæs, a recognized neighborhood instrumental, along with social climber Mads Skjern, who arrives in town as the series opens. The name Matador has been shot from the localised edition of the boardgame Monopoly the series' tentative name. Additionally, in modern mega a"matador" is often used to refer to a small business tycoon, at the series referring to the character of Mads Skjern along with also his craftiness as a freelancer writer. Directed by famous Danish film manufacturer Erik Balling, Matador has been writer Lise Nørgaard's Concept who composed Most of the episodes alongside Jens Louis Petersen Karen Smith and Paul Hammerich. The series is just one of the most well-known and favorite examples of Danish television and represents the summit of long-time maturation of Danish TV drama by the public service channel Danmarks Radio. The series has been part of Danes' modern self-understanding , partially because of its successful mix of melodrama and a warm humour at the depiction of personalities, that were portrayed by a wide selection of the popular actors at the moment. But perhaps not because of its portrayal of a turbulent Denmark from the beginning of the Great Depression and throughout Nazi Germany's occupation of Denmark in World War II.
