Samurai 7

In 2004, Gonzo released the first season of an anime television series based on Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film Seven Samurai, titled Samurai 7. Toshifumi Takizawa was in charge of the show's direction, while Kaoru Wada and Eitetsu Hayashi were in charge of the music. It costs a total of 32,500,000 to produce each of the 26 episodes. All of the episodes were shown on the anime satellite television network Animax, which also carried the series on various networks across the world such as Animax Southeast Asia, Animax South Asia and Animax in Latin America. The North American dubbing rights were purchased by Funimation Entertainment. In the United States, it broadcast on the Independent Film Channel in April 2006 and on Dish Network's Animania HD channel in high definition. Additionally, it has been aired on Razer in Canada and TVB Jade in Hong Kong. On the 6th of September, 2010, the series premiered on the Funimation Channel. Toonami returned on Adult Swim on August 19, 2012, and the show ran until February 10, 2013, when it was cancelled.
