The O.C.

The show centers on Ryan Atwood, a troubled childhood from a broken home who is embraced by the philanthropic and wealthy Sandy and Kirsten Cohen. A teenager that is socially awkward yet quickwitted, his brother Seth and ryan, deal with life as outsiders from Newport Beach's universe. Seth and ryan spend also the fast-talking loner Taylor Townsend, Seth's youth crush Summer Roberts, and much time navigating their connections with all girl-next-door Marissa Cooper. Story lines deal with the culture battle between your Cohen family that is idealistic and the shallow community where they reside. The show includes elements of postmodernism, and serves as a mixture of melodrama and humor.
