The Real Housewives of Vancouver is a Canadian reality show that airs on the Slice cable network in Canada. The Real Housewives of Canada is the first Canadian chapter of the franchise, with filming beginning in August 2011 for Shaw Media. On April4,2012, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the show aired for the first time. The 1.2 million viewers tuned in for the two-hour premiere, which set a new record for the highest-rated premiere in network history. The series was renewed for a second season on May30,2012, according to Slice. Jody Claman, Ronnie Seterdahl Negus, and Mary Zilba, as well as new cast members Amanda Hansen, Ioulia Reynolds, and Robin Richmond Reichman, began filming season two in July 2012. On February5,2013, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, the second season debuted. Slice decided to forego a reunion for the second season in order to give more episodes rather than cutting the season even shorter. Shaw Media, Slice's parent company, announced on June6,2013, that the series had been put "on pause" as it looked for alternative programming options.
