Amazon
Amazon has been a tv series made by Peter Benchley. Canadian production companies Alliance Atlantis Communications & WIC Entertainment and German firm Beta Film GmbH developed it. The 22 episodes of this series were in syndication between 1999 and 2000.
The play series focused on the six survivors of a airline flight from the Brazilian Amazon jungle. The set soon comes into connection and relations are anything but favorable. A tribe, who flew out of century British colonists who were lost from Amazon takes the group. Relationships with the Chosen are tenuous at best. The majority of the group leaks the Chosen to stir up a hornets nest with a tribe of cannibals, headed by an American woman bent on domination of the local tribes. The season ended in a cliff hanger, and a season was never produced. The series retained adequate interest that it was released on DVD.
Rob MacGregor wrote A novelization of this pilot, and also a paperback was released by Harper about 8 2000.
The name has been Amazonas - Gefangene des Dschungels.
